James, in the situation i was, getting the aluminum clean was the main goal. before the pots were dry, the cooks would nab them out of the drying rack and hand me some pot that had been burned in the oven.. Re: aluminum boat cleaning any decent blade cleaner will do a good job cleaning and brightening aluminum. the caveat of course is that like anything that cleans off the protective oxidised layer this is a reductive process and you are losing aluminum.. Cleaner: aluminum cleaner materials: scrub brush, water hose aluminum boat cleaning and cleaning pontoons directions: now that the build up has been removed from the aluminum boat or pontoons, the aluminum cleaner can reach the actual surface to clean, de-oxidize and remove stains and discoloration..
I realize there are pros and cons regarding cleaning oxidation from an aluminum boat. mine is a 1985 seanymph 14r v-hull big water. i mainly wanted to clean not necessarily highly polish to remove the rough chalky oxidation primarily above the waterline prior to completion of sealing seams and replacing rivets in the hull/bow area of my boat... For heavy cleaning, (meaning boats that are left in water) dilute toon-brite aluminum cleaner 50/50. for all other applications dilute 3-5 to 1. the 33.8 oz./1l container of super concentrated formula will make up to 2-1/2 gallons of aluminum cleaner..
